In Year 6 we are looking at different ways we can make games for an exciting new topic. Last week we looked at Kodu, to learn how to program a simple 3D game and this week we used 2Simple’s 2DIY for the very first time to create a simple platform game. We will be using the skills we have learnt over the past two weeks to great effect over the coming weeks, but for now take a look at wht we achieved in an hour. Ms Harper asked me to have a look at these games – I loved them! I work at a games development studio. We have 170 people making games, and this is exactly how they all started – making fun things with straightforward animation and graphics. Great work

Great fun! Some of the games had far too many baddies in my opinion. But maybe I just need a bit more practice! Looking forward to seeing more of your games.

Lovely 2DIY creations there. Well done. The use of animation on the ‘monster’ elements to make them chase me around the screen makes the games more of a challenge, and lots of sound effect add something extra to the games as well.
